Welcome to our 8th year of SNAP! Open to all kids of BLK (Bill Koch League) age (grades K-8), as well as high school. If your middle or high school doesn’t have a cross country ski team, now you have a home base for training. We welcome all ages from both Vermont and New Hampshire.
The K-8 SNAP program is on Tuesdays this season. Younger skiers who are interested in more training and some racing may be allowed to participate on Wednesdays in the middle/high school racing program with approval of the Program Director.
Here’s how the program works: On ski days, student skiers will be split up into groups by age and ability, and each group will be headed by a volunteer adult who will take the group out on the trails for each practice. Volunteer helpers will be leading their groups under the guidance of our experienced coaches, with coaching tips and drills to work on for each practice. If you are interested in helping to lead and/or ski with the kids, please indicate this on your registration form, or contact the Program Director. Experience is NOT necessary, either for volunteers or for participants!
The program will run for 8 weeks, January 8th until February 26th, 2019.
The Tuesday session will run from 3:30-4:30pm (a bit later as it stays light). Newton school students may take the bus to the Nordic Center with a note – however skis are not allowed on the bus.
The SNAP fee is $75 for the Tuesday program. Registration forms are due by January 1st. Late registrations should add $10 and will only be accepted if there is room in the program.
Rentals are available for free for Strafford residents, or for $40 for non-residents during the program times, but must be reserved prior to the start of the program by visiting our lodge and reserving the correct size. Sizing is limited so please be sure to reserve your equipment before the first day of the program.
To register for the program please print the SNAP registration form 2018 and return it to Strafford Nordic Center with payment, or pay via the PayPal button below.
